Next week – from the 18.-20. April, we’ll have our third i-mean conference at UWE. It’s one of the biggest conferences in its field, organised by our own Jo Angouri and Kate Beeching. This year the conference theme is identity and language, with a whole range of really exciting talks – something for everyone.
I’ll be running a panel on ‘identity and language contact’ on Friday (19th). Those studying language contact and bilingualism (OLB) with me at level 3 will have heard about most of these speakers’ work – so if you’re going to do this module next year: here’s your chance to hear about some of the things we’ll be discussing!
There are also 5 really interesting plenaries (invited presentations in big lecture theatres by the leaders in their fields), book stalls from major publishers, posters presenting research findings, opportunities for networking, etc.
